Year 1 English Learning Disabilities consists of a textbook and an activity book specifically designed for the pupils with varies learning disabilities. It is written in accordance to the Standard-Based Curriculum for Primary Schools Learning Disabilities.
The textbook consists of ten units with ten different themes in our daily lives and all the four skills of learning; listening, speaking, reading, and writing are exposed to the pupils.
In addition, language art activities are also incorporated in the textbook to ensure learning experience. Pupils will be able to explore and learn the targeted learning standards in an enjoyable manner.

- Listening and Speaking - This component aims to develop the pupils' ability to listen and respond according to the given stimuli. The pupils are introduced to simple listening and speaking activities. The elements of songs and nursery rhymes are also incorporated to promote fun learning.
- Reading - To develop their reading skills and enable pupils to recognise letters, read words, phrases, and sentences.
- Writing - The writing skills enable the pupils to form letters, words, phrases, and sentences. The pupils are taught to write from the basic writing skills.
- Language and Arts - This skill enables the pupils to use English through fun-filled activities that stimulates their imagination and creativity.
The activity book is used hand in hand with the textbook. The activity book which is designed to support and strenghten the language skills taught in the textbook. The various types of exercises enables the pupils to improve and reinforce their basic English mastery. There are corresponding pages in the activity book to every unit in the textbook. Hence, the activity book should be incorporated with the textbook to evaluate and achieve the learning objectives.
The materials in the books are carefully tailored to suit the different levels of the pupils with learning disabilities in Malaysia. Teachers are encouraged to plan, prepare, and select relevant materials to maek the learning process fun, engaging and meaningful.
